Order snapshots
When a customer orders, we snapshot the item name, price, and modifiers. If you change the menu later, old orders still show what was actually ordered.

Every restaurant's data is scoped. One restaurant never sees another's orders, menus, or customers.

Security & account
Bcrypt passwords
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost 12). We never see plaintext passwords.
Session cookies
JWT sessions with signed cookies. HTTP-only, secure in production.
Password reset
One-time tokens, 1-hour expiry. Reset link includes the token; used tokens get invalidated.
Rate limiting
IP-based rate limits on signup, login, password reset, and order placement. Stops automated abuse.
URL validation
Uploaded image URLs must be http(s) or our own upload endpoint. No javascript: or data: XSS.
