Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 April 2026
Welcome to OrderTap. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our software and services. By creating an account or using any part of the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. What we provide
OrderTap is a software-as-a-service platform that lets restaurants accept orders and payments from customers via QR codes. We are not a restaurant, we do not handle food, and we do not take custody of customer payments (Stripe does).
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and legally authorised to enter into a contract.
- You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- Keep your password secure. Tell us if you think it's compromised.
- One account per restaurant. Additional locations need additional accounts.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to your menu, logo, and content. You grant us a limited licence to display it within the service as needed to run it for you. You are responsible for making sure your menu content (including allergens) is accurate and legally compliant.
4. Fees
- Free plan: £0/month plus 2% platform fee on each paid order.
- Pro plan: £29/month plus 0% platform fee.
- Stripe's standard payment processing fees (currently 1.5% + 20p per UK card) apply independently — we don't collect them.
- We may change pricing with 30 days' notice by email.
5. Payments
All end-customer payments are processed by Stripe, not by us. You must maintain a valid Stripe account in good standing to accept orders. Your use of Stripe is governed by Stripe's own terms.
6. Acceptable use
- No illegal content or goods.
- No scraping, reverse-engineering, or abusing the service.
- No attempts to impersonate another restaurant or mislead customers.
- Follow UK food law — including Natasha's Law for allergen display.
7. Uptime and support
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We provide email support on a best-effort basis. Pro plan customers get priority support.
8. Cancellation
You can cancel anytime from your billing page. On cancellation of Pro, you drop back to Free at the end of the current billing period. To delete your account and data entirely, email us.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by UK law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is capped at the fees you've paid us in the 3 months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, or indirect damages. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be emailed to account holders with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.
